NHS Work Placements - Privacy Policy

The NHS Work Placements ("NHSWP" or "we") believe it is important to protect your privacy and we are committed to giving you a service that meets your needs in a way that also protects your privacy. This policy explains how we may collect information about you and then use it to meet your needs.
NHSWP recognises The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) applicable from 25 May 2018 and complies with the relevant Data Protection Principles laid out in this legislation.

  1. from you when you complete your application form and related questions, in which case this will include your contact details and covers health information, race, religious beliefs, sexuality, and more. This is known as sensitive personal data.
  2. from you when you contact us with an enquiry or in response to a communication from us, in which case this may tell us something about how you use our services.

2. Using personal information

NHSWP will use personal information for the following purposes:

  1. to identify you when you contact us;
  2. to help administer, and contact you about improved administration of, the application process and results generated by the process;
  3. to carry out marketing analysis, conduct research, including creating statistical and testing information;
  4. to pass your information on to the organisations you have applied for a role with, in the event of you reaching an appropriate stage of the application process.

We may allow other people and organisations to use information we hold about you, if we have been legitimately asked to provide information for legal or regulatory purposes or as part of legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings.

3. The internet

Please remember that communications over the internet, such as email and webmail (messages sent through a website), are not secure unless they have been encrypted. All applications completed through this website are encrypted.

4.Your data protection rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected.  

You also have the right to request us to erase your personal information or to restrict our processing of your personal information or to object to our processing of your personal information.  You can request that your account be deleted at any time by emailing workplacements@skillsdevelopmentnetwork.com
